Holiday in a designer apartment, with a traditional wine cellar and a quality interior

This award-winning holiday house consists of a loft on the first floor, above a traditional wine cellar. The house is located in a little village near Leibnitz in the south-east of Austria.

The loft has a living and sleeping room with a comfortable sofa bed (140 x 200cm) for two people. The house is intended for two people. To the rear there is the kitchen unit, with a four hob electric cooking top, a fridge with a freezer compartment, and cooking utensils, as well as basic flatware and tableware. The designer bathroom has a rainforest shower-head, towels and local soap. The basement features a 200-year-old original wine cellar with a vaulted ceiling. You can sit and immerse yourself in the history told by its walls. Local red and white wines are available for your personal consumption and charged by the bottle.

The 200-year-old former wine press has won many international and local prizes for its architecture. The aim of the design was to realise a modern interpretation of traditional building features. It was designed by Yes Architecture, who succeeded in taking up traditional aspects of the original windowless distillery and combining them with the corn silo structure next to the house that is unique in this region. The layout is like that of a traditional farmhouse.

You can relax in the garden, which has garden furniture so you can dine outdoors. You can sunbathe on the deckchairs. You can pick fruit yourselves from the fruit trees and grape vines. There are restaurants within 500 metres and shops 2km away. Within a radius of less than 3km you can go riding, play tennis or go fishing at the lake, with a grass beach and water sports.

The welcome basket features local bread, milk, eggs, coffee, tea, homemade jam, and one bottle of wine. In the kitchen you will find basic condiments, like salt, pepper, sugar, oil and vinegar.
